Improv
Play is an integral part of theatre. Students will explore play through improvisation to help build a love of theatre, have fun, and in the process, build their stage and life confidence. The ultimate goal is to tap into their imagination and help them grow within an ensemble setting.
Devised Theatre
Express yourself and your ideas with theatrics! Create your own character, develop your storytelling strategies, and explore your imagination while working together to produce an original piece of theatre.

Have you ever wanted to produce your own music? Now is your chance! This class is all about using DAW software to record, produce and edit all types of music. Including, but not limited to rock and roll, hip-hop, and electronic dance music. The final product will be an original recorded composition. Students who wish to sing or record themselves playing an instrument are strongly encouraged to join us!
Strings!
In this class we will be exploring new and exciting ways of playing string instruments together. Using games, composition activities, and music technology we will work together to produce a short concert we will perform at the end of the session. This is a great opportunity to try out an instrument you haven’t played before, or enhance the skills you already have on your favorite string instrument! The violin, viola, cello, and bass will all be offered in this class, and students will receive a recording of their final performance.

Using the vibrant palette of polymer clay, we will use multiple decorative techniques to create jewelry using unique shapes and textures that expresses each individual's personal style!

Combine innovative techniques with textiles to create unique, sustainable garments in your own personal style. Breathe new life into old clothes by learning how to cut, assemble, sew, and customize unique garments. Learn the skills needed to give your garments a second life and transform a jacket or a pair of shoes into a work of art.
Mask-Making Workshop
Bring your vision to life! Whether it’s a green-eyed alien or a glittery unicorn we can make your creature! Using paper mache, cardboard, tape, paint and much more, we will create a variety of different masks. All designed by you! Plan on having fun while making a bit of an organized mess......
Exploratory Sketchbook: Find Your Drawing Style
Using multiple fun methods, this class will take your ideas and develop them into something larger. By the end of the week, each student will have a collection of work using gouache, watercolor, colored pencils and more.
Hojalata-Mexican Tin Art
Hojalata, or Mexican tin art can be found in mirrors, masks, ornaments and candle holders. This technique involves transferring an original drawing or design onto tin. Drawing, embossing, painting, punching, and poking tin will allow you to create your own design, be it a plant, animal or abstract.

Bookbinding, printmaking, artist's books, and sculptural bookworks are some of the book arts we will explore. Creative writing and read alouds from popular books will be incorporated.

Are you an animal lover? In this class we will learn about endangered and threatened species, especially those that live near or in Louisiana. We will explore what we can do to help keep animals from extinction and how to get the word out to others.
Arts of Japan
Explore the works of historic and contemporary Japanese artists (Hiroshige, Hokusai, Kusama, and more) as we create and design our own Japanese-inspired paintings and calligraphy.

This class will explore how to make miniature food items using clay and other materials. Students will learn about artists like Andrea Love and as well as basic techniques using various clay tools. Students may choose to turn finished work into magnets or charms. The project will culminate with students creating an environment to display their miniature food sculptures such as a picnic blanket or kitchen table.
The Art of Louisiana’s Free People of Color
Who were the Free People of Color in Louisiana? How did these people hold on to the culture they brought with them to this new land? What did they wear? Where did they gather? What were their contributions to their time and to today? Not only will we learn a bit of history, but we will create music and fashion pieces in the style of this important group of people.
